Good afternoon everyone!!!
I have some good news... It has been six weeks since the
last version of the Organizers' Database software was released,
so it is time to roll out a new version -- version 0.9.3b. See:
http://organizenow.net/relnotes.html for details on the release.
The main addition to this release is the long-awaited "Napster"
search feature. Just as in Napster or a music sharing program,
you can right-click on a song to find other songs from the same
album, or other songs that the file sharing person was sharing,
the NEW ODB will let you right click on all the address info
in the main menu. So you can find people in the same town, at
the same organization, on the same street, in the same zip code,
in the same ward... without having to even go into Select Records.
VERY IMPORTANT: If you are using the "Groups" feature
of ODB, please note that last week we discovered a bug that
is potentially serious. The problem: if you deleted a group, ODB
could in rare situations delete the donations associated with
a person who had nothing to do with that group. Fortunately,
the warning message about deleting donations was still showing
up, so if this actually affected anyone we probably would have heard
about it, and we did not.
The upgrade is free. The easiest way to upgrade is to click
on the "?" icon in the main ODB menu and choose "Check for
New Version". Or you can go to the main home page and download
ODB the way you did the first time.
