Dear ODB Users:

THANKS for all the GREAT feedback on electoral
needs of small campaigns and how ODB could be
improved in this area!

I have ANOTHER REQUEST, which is a request for
additional stories about how your group is using,
or is intending to use, ODB. Specifically, if
you are doing any clearinghouse management,
human rights, public health, or international
development work we would like to hear from you.

If you are a CONSULTANT who has customized ODB for
someone, please let us know that you exist and we
will also get in touch with you, and even set up
a phone meeting of ODB consultants.

The POINT OF THIS REQUEST is that our crew, is
now expanding to about 5 volunteers (besides the
people who work on the software) and we would like
to add some CASE STUDIES to the web site and also
we would like to be able to ADD ADDITIONAL TEMPLATES.

If you think your organization might make a good
case study (we can interview you, you don't have
to write it), please email odb@organizenow.net.

Or if you would like to share a template, all you
have to do is click on the wrench, then on the Save
Template button. Once you have done that, you can
look at the template file (it will be located in
c:\program files\oc\templates most likely) to verify
what it contains (just open it in notepad) and then
just send it to us.

WHAT TEMPLATES DO WE HAVE THUS FAR?

We already have collected some templates for:
-- a local "labor council"
-- a local city council/ board of alderman race
-- a local community organizing clearinghouse

Once we do a bit of work on them (removing the
info that is not relevant to any other organization),
we will release these as part of 0.9.4.

p.s. we could also use help from a volunteer who can help
us install and upgrade MailMan on Linux (or help with
setting up PHPbb) so we can get setup some ODB-Discuss
2-way email lists. We could do this now, but we don't want
to do it until our lists are "spam-protected." Version 2.1
has spam protection, and version 2.0 (what we are using) does not.

We may also provide a web forum for support: if you want to
help us choose the best options, please email Dan at:
dmoore <at> continuumconsulting.info
who is interested in setting up software for this purpose.
